I would like a very defined jawline, and to do so I would like to get rid of the excess fat around it (I've tried botox for the masseter muscle and didn't like the results, I don't want it thinner, just defined). For coolsculpting I was told I do not have enough fat because it was not pinch-able. Are there dangers to liposuctioning the jaw and chin if there is very little fat?

Answer: Can you get neck and chin liposuction if there is barely enough fat to pinch? There are fat deposits located both above and below the platysma muscle in the neck, so it's important to determine that at the time of the consultation and examination. A surgical neck lift is required to remove the fatty deposits below the platysma muscle in addition to a platysma plasty. No skin removal is required in patients, as long as the skin tone is acceptable.

Answer: Can you get neck and chin liposuction if there is barely enough fat to pinch? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. If there's very little excess fat below the chin liposuction will make "very little" to no change. It might be that your chin and or the back portion of the jaw line itself is weak. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery. If the back portion of your jaw line is a bit weak and can be augmented, without making your face appear masculine, using precise placement of a dermal filler (I prefer using Restylane Lyft). Hope this helps.
