Are these Montgomery glands and could they be removed? (Photos)

Question

Hey, I’m a 25-year-old guy, and I’m suffering from bumps on my nipples for many years. It can be squeezed and a sebum comes out of it. How can I get rid of it? Are they Montgomery glands? Can they be lasered off? Thank you!

Those are Montgomery glands and they can be removed surgically.  A laser will not remove them because they originate deep below the skin level.  They can be punched out using a small 2-3 mm punch or you can undergo a circumareola incision removing them at the areola margin.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

I would agree that taking out the dominant glands is not unreasonable with small excisions. The ones which are at the margin of the areola to my mind may leave you with a visible scar. This may not be advisable. Glands are common and would consider the options of leaving matters alone when necessary.
