Hi, I’m reading up on both microneedling treatments and Exilis treatments for crepey skin under my eyes. I know that both treatments help your body produce more collegian but I’m wondering which one is more effective. I’ve also read that the Exilis is not a permanent procedure and can diminish in about two years. I have had 5 microneedling treatments and have noticed some difference but I still have the loose skin. I’m 34, what is my best option?
Answer: Recommend doing a light cO2 laser treatment to help reduce appearance of fine lines under the eyes Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Do microneedling treatments and Exilis treatments on the face, specifically under the eyes, do the same thing? They may stimulate some similar targets such as collagen stimulation but work differently. The microneedling will be effective especially from the top of the skin going in, the temperature heating of the Exilis will work from the inside out. I generally have these work together and also have my patients on high quality skin health protocols with topical creams. Wish you all the best.wirthplasticsurgery.com

Answer: Microneedling vs exilis treatment Both of these treatments are excellent treatments for tightening crepey skin. Microneedling stimuates collagen by using tiny needles. Exilis does this by using heat from ultrasound and radiowaves.None of these treatments are "permanent" as you will unfortunately continue to age. Other options to stimulate collagen production includes laser and microneedling with RF (Lutronic infini). Oftentimes these procedures are combined with PRP or growth factor to boost collagen production and enhance tightening. It will take 3-6 months to see the final results of your treatment.

Answer: Under eye Hello there! I typically think of microneedling as a treatment that targets more superficial collagen (tone and texture). Exilis penetrates deeper (lifts and tightens). In my practice I have seen the best results with a combination of these two in this area, as well as the addition of medical-grade eye cream. Any procedure that deals with collagen and elastin will need to be repeated because the skin continues to age. We typically recommend repeating treatment series yearly. Good luck! Sarah RN BSN
