PRP is a wonderful addition to microneedling procedures. Your own plasma is rich in fibroblast which are the precursors of collagen formation. It is well worth the extra money you pay to add this valuable step to your microneedling session.
Thank you for the question. To rejuvenate your skin, help with hair loss, and improve the results of laser procedures, we can inject you with plasma from your own blood. We draw some of your blood and process it to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PRP contains concentrated growth factors; ingredients that stimulate skin and hair growth. This augments and enhances the microneedling process. The entire procedure can be performed in less than an hour. Normally a series of 3 treatments is recommended for best results. I find that the Eclipse PRP system with the Micropen Elite achieves best results. As always, an in-person consultation with a board certified dermatologist with cosmetic training is the best way to assess your needs and provide medical advice.
I always add prp and lasers to microneedling to get the best outcomes for healing, texture and tone. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello and thank you for your question. We only microneedle with PRP in our office. The additional amount you pay is absolutely worth the benefits of using PRP during your microneedling treatment. Not only does PRP speed up the process of wound and soft tissue healing. The healing properties of platelets and growth factors from your blood help to stimulate a stem cell response. These stem cells allow production of new collagen, repairs and regenerates damaged skin, and helps reduce the signs of aging.Hope this helps,
I actually do not use PRP with microneedling as I have such good results without it. I've been using microneedling as an adjunct to surgical procedures since before the hype of PRP became popular and have used it myself to correct severe acne scarring. My patients tell me that all the photos of the Vampire facelifts online scare them off from wanting to do microneedling and are relieved when they hear their experience won't be like that. With that being said, I don't think it bad to use it, but I'd rather add a chemical peel to or recommend skin products to use with microneedling. My patients are very happy with this and are obsessed with how their skin looks even after one treatment. I hope this helps,Sarah Saxon, MD
Thanks for your question. Quite frankly, we only recommend microneedling if you are doing it with PRP. Otherwise, you are really just scratching the surface. It's not worth the risks and downtime without PRP. Best of luck.
Hello Brianna, When microneedling is combined with PRP you get a synergistic effect of the two and you will see wonderful results in many ways especially skin rejuvenation – when growth factors enter the face through injections, multipotent skin cells become activated to grow new tissue. This creates new collagen (youthfulness), new fatty tissue (smoothness), and new blood vessels (healthy glow). Best of luck.
HI thanks for taking the time to write in a question. If you can post pictures it would be helpful because the results depend greatly on were you are starting from. If you have great skin with no wrinkles and only mild acne scarring then your results will be different than someone with severe wrinkling and deep or extensive acne scarring. PRP can have excellent outcomes when used in combination with micro needle delivery. The worse your condition the more profound the effect in my experience. Hope this helpsDr C
Studies out soon to demonstrate the benefits of PRP with microneedling. It improves outcomes, but dramatically reduces the downtime, especially if one is doing energy based microneedling. See a Board Certified Specialist if in doubt. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
Lip lift scars can be white and visible. Hidef protocols can help with visible lip lift scars on the face. I see a lot of these in my office in Beverly Hills. Surgery is often not needed if lasers and HIDEF scar revision techniques are introduced. In our office, we combine treatments starting ...
This isn't typical after microneedling. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for a formal evaluation. With microneedling, I always add lasers and prp to improve outcomes. See an expert.
Hi @aashima. I would recommend spacing out your treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Best of luck to you, Dr. Nima!
