Best Liposuction Method for ONLY Back of Legs?

Question

I have a layer of fat only on the very back of my leg, not really on the inner or outer thigh at all.. I have seen and heard horror stories of women who had lipo done to that area and their butt fell from lack of leg support OR they developed horrible rippling because the area is so tricky to liposuction. What would be the best method for that area? What causes the least amount of rippling and how much leg area should be left alone to avoid the butt falling?

The answer to your questions is just to find an experienced plastic surgeon that has great results with liposuction that can show you his/her results. The techniques used and equipment that is available for the most part really do not matter. The surgeon is the pivotal part of the equation and not the method or technique. I personally prefer to use very small cannulas (3mm) and a slightly lower setting with my PAL system for tricky areas like the posterior thigh. But other surgeons might have equal or better results with a different technique. Bad liposuction is usually a result of inexperience. Avoid allowing anyone other than a board certified plastic surgeon to complete your procedure.

liposuction can be performed effectively for the calves and the legs. Results depend on the amount of fat and skin ellasticity. patients have to be aware that massage and exercise after liposuction is very important for avoiding lumpiness.

Liposuction of posterior thighs is a perfectly reasonable request, but the buttock and buttock crease should not be disrupted. I suction this area most frequently during the Brazilian butt lift to give the appearance of a more rounded or more prominent buttock with better shape.

Thigh liposuction can be performed successfully with almost all types of liposuction including traditional tumescent liposuction, Vaser, or Smartlipo. Liposuction of the thighs requires experience as it is an area that allows for little room for error. Go to an experienced and certified plastic surgeon for best results.

The back of the thighs do well with the micro cannulas and a lipo doc with many yrs of experience. The smaller the cannulas, the smoother the results and coming from 3 different directions crisscrossing the area tends to give good results. Sincerely,

There is no single technique that guarantees perfect result. The outcome is primarily dependent on the skills and experiences of the surgeon. The amount of fat removed and the quality of skin will also affect the outcome. This is an area that I have used Laser-assisted lipocontouring such as Smartlipo or Accusculpt with good outcome. It's also an area that needs to be handled conservatively and not overly aggressive with fat removal.

Presuming your concern is the area right below the buttocks, sometimes called a "banana roll," the problem is that it is supporting the buttock. The cause of it is often more related to sagging from above rather than truly localized excess fat, so all the problems you mention can happen. It is not going to be solved by a specific type of liposuction, and the only way to get good advice about what to do is to see an experienced liposuciton surgeon.

	You are correct that the posterior thigh offers challenges to surgeons that can lead to unsatisfactory results.  However, this is really no different than any other site on the body; each presenting their own unique challenges.  You are incorrect in thinking some technology or machine is the answer to the problem.  At least at this point in time, it is still the surgeon with his skill, and perhaps more importantly, his experience that will lead to a good result, regardless of the particular area of the body.

In medicine, some things are so old they are new or simply forgotten. 
Step one: making the right assessment of the situation(diagnosis)
(the wrong assessment can lead to a worsening of the issue)
Step two: determining what is the best treatment once step one is understood
Is medicine any less complicated than plumbing?
You know you have no hot water but the issue can't be determined by simply looking at the outside of the boiler; an experienced plumber typically has the best chance of figuring out what is going on the inside. Same in medicine, especially surgery, experience with how the deep tissues age is the best weapon to fight what you do not like on the outside.
The back of the thigh is rarely a fat issue; more typically is one of skin laxity.
To answer your question more directly, the best method(assuring the best chance of success) will be predicated on age, weight loss and gain history, hormonal status, what's going on above(pushing down with gravity) and tissue laxity. 
In short, without an examination or at least photos(at a minimum) I wouldn't move forward confidently.
