Is it okay to leave nylon sutures in your nose permanently?

Unfortunately, thread lifting to lift a droopy nasal tip does not work. The threads that are used in the face are typically barbed wires. If they become infected or are placed to superficial the point where they become visible, management can be a very big problem. Since nylon is completely permanent, and since removal of such a thread might not be possible, and since the procedure has little to no efficacy, I would have to say stay away. Hope this helps! Yes, nylon sutures are intended to be non-dissolvable/permanent. They are safe to leave in the body. If you are concerned about leaving a foreign object in your body another great option for you could be a non surgical nose job using fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Nylon can be left in the body permanently. If the sutures are too large, close to the surface, or irritating, your body may push out the suture. I personally do not recommend nylon thread lifts of the nose as the  nose is a 3-d structure which will require some modifications in its structure to achieve an appropriate and natural look. Simply pulling on one area with a thread will not likely produce adequate results. Hope this helps!
