Is it important to ice my nose after a restalyne injection?

Icing to reduce swelling or bruising after
getting filler injections can be helpful for some patients, and others
sometimes report that it actually causes more bruising or swelling. It's really
up to the patient's preference. Whenever using ice for therapeutic purposes,
it's important to not overdo it. Applying cool compresses, rather than ice cubes,
for 5 minutes at a time is a safe route. If it enhances your comfort, then you
may choose to do it, but it has mixed results with bruising and swelling. It's
always a good idea to contact your surgeon regarding questions about recovery,
because he or she may have specific instructions to follow.Best ofluck!

Thank you for the question. Usually only a small amount of filler needs to be injected into the nose. For such a small amount of product being used, icing is probably not necessary. Too much pressure from ice can also cause the injectable to migrate. You probably should only apply ice if you notice excessive swelling. Good luck.

This sometimes helps to decrease bruising and swelling post fillers and is a good idea. on the nose however you dont want to constrict blood vessels so sometimes this isnt the best idea. I would ask your physician and it will be based on what he has done.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your experience. Icing during and after the procedure definitely helps with swelling reduction. If you feel swollen, then I would continue to ice on and off for 5 to 10 minutes every hour for the first day or two.
