My gums used to show when I would smile and now they don't and my smile looks very forced. Is this permanent and is there a way to fix this? I don't feel comfortable smiling with my teeth anymore. The alar base reduction was without my consent or knowledge. Could the alar base reduction be to blame? I also feel pain in the middle of my bridge when I smile with my teeth.

Good question. Have you discussed your concern with your surgeon? The tip and supra tip areas are the last areas for swelling to leave. That being said, it is not uncommon for a surgeon to offer steroid injection or a taping regimen to help speed up your healing process in this area. Warm regards.
