When will my "Hershey's Kiss" boobs look normal? (Photo)

I am day 10 post op with 300 cc moderate implants, and I notice that my boobs have a cone-like shape, like a Hersey's Kiss - especially on a profile. How long will it take till my boobs appear normal, and in some cases does this cone shape not go away?

Hello,I believe you've posted before about this.  You are way too early to worry about your breast shape. You skin was very tight and inelastic so it will take time for the soft tissue envelope to soften and round. It will look better soon, along with softening and mobility, but could take a year or more to fully change shape.Best of luck!

I appreciate your question.

Right now, you are very early on in the
post op recovery period. It will take 3-6 months for you to feel comfortable
having implants in your body and for them to settle. This time allows for you
to physically and psychologically adapt to your new body image. There are many
variables that contribute to a breast augmentation's final result. Preop size
and shape, IMF location, location of the implants and type of implant. Patients
heal at different rates and each breast will sometimes heal at a different
rate. Rest, relax, recover and heal. Please Express your concerns to your surgeon so
he/she can examine you at this time.Then reassess final result at 6 months.

The best way to assess and give true
advice would be an in-person exam.

surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.

Hello, Thank you for your question. As your body accommodates to your new implants, you’ll notice that your breasts will gradually look more and more natural – the way you hoped they’d be! Over the course of about three to four months, your body creates new skin to accommodate the additional volume of your implants. This natural process is called “tissue expansion”, and relieves the tightness you may be experiencing. It allows for the implants to settle more into a better position with the help of gravity. A gradual redistribution of volume from the upper to the lower breast occurs, resulting in an enlargement and rounding out of the lower breast.Although it’s often called “dropping”, it is more like “redistribution”. The “fluffing” part refers to the impression that the lower breast enlarges and that your skin softens with the creation of new tissues. The extent to which this occurs depends on several factors, including the implant size, the tightness of your skin, and your body shape.All the best.

If you were small to start, it takes time for the surrounding skin to stretch around the implant. Be patient when evaluating your results, as this will likely improve with time. Continue to follow up with your surgeon to ensure that you progress as planned.

Congratulations on
having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. I ask my patients to wait
3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation
surgery. This waiting time allows patients to adapt to the changes in their breast size
and shape as well as their overall new body image. There are a
significant percentage of patients at your stage of recovery that feel that
they are too big or (more commonly) too small. And those emotional feelings can
change daily turning this transitional time. Remember also that each
side of the body heals at a different rate and that you weren't perfectly
asymmetric to begin with so although you should be closer in symmetry there
will always be differences.
It can take many months to see the
final results of surgery. Swelling, soreness, skin repositioning, implant
settling must resolve completely before you can make that determination. Once
the swelling around the implants has also resolved you can see the final
result. Patients often report that they are happier with the implants' shape
their cleavage and projection once these changes occur.
