I am 18. My hairline dips down in the middle and then becomes much higher at the sides. Is it receding or just naturally curved?

I looked at pictures of myself from up to three years ago (I had long hair before that it couldn't see my hairline in any pictures) I have the same hairline in all the photos and doesn't seem to have receded at all. I saw a picture of my grandfather in 4th grade and he has same hairline. My uncle has also always had it. Could it simply be my natural hairline inharited from my dads side?

There is no good way to tell what is going on without an examination and detailed history.  It can be anything from genetic to some unknown cause.

From what you have described it sounds like this is a familial (genetic) pattern.Certain preventative measures may be appropriate if hair loss is suspected.18 is a bit young for transplants but if it concerns you schedule an evaluation with a Dermatologist or experienced Hair Restoration surgeon.

have one of these conditions:

a.     
You are either experiencing
maturation of your hairline or

b.     
You have early onset male patterned
baldness.

It is best to see
a hair transplant specialist to discuss your concerns.  A microscopic evaluation of your scalp
(miniaturization study) can determine if you are prone to hair loss and need
hair loss medication to prevent further baldness.
