Hello, I'm a 17 year old girl and I literally have hair everywhere! On my face, neck, chest, back, stomach, hands, etc. it's not feminine and it makes me look dirty. I'm Mexican, brown so it makes me look even darker. My moms side of my family is also really hairy but I'm dark like my dad so it's really noticeable on me. Any way to get rid of so much hair? At least on my face/neck. Thank you. While I'm at it, does anyone know how to get rid of my dark sports cause my previous acne. Thank you!
Answer
The best treatment is electrolysis or laser and vaniqa cream. I suggest seeing an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

You would be a good candidate for laser hair removal to help get rid of the hair on your face. Your acne scars can be treated with a variety of treatments ranging from at home skin care products to chemical peels. I would wait until your laser hair removal treatments are complete before treating the acne scars. Make sure you find an experienced laser hair removal provider so you don't end up with burns or additional pigment changes. Hope this helps.

Hello. Laser hair removal is an excellent option for you given that the hair is dark and has some coarseness. We would use bleaching products to get rid of the dark acne scars. To see an example of the laser hair removal before and after photos like yours, click on the link below.

It is very, very common for women to receive laser hair removal on the face. It can be very effective and even life changing. It is important to use the appropriate laser for your skin type. Darker skin, like yours, would have the safest and most effective result with a long pulsed nd yag laser. It is important to find an experienced laser hair removal center owned and operated by a physician. You should have a consultation priot to your treatment to be sure you are a good candidate for laser hair removal. Be sure to find a medical office that offers individual treatments, not a pre-paid series.

I'd be cautious getting LHR with you darker skin type for risk of getting more hair growth. The reason this happens is not clear and it usually occurs in people of Mediterranean heritage. If you get LHR, it should be a 1064 laser. I'd recommend Vaniqa. Even in lighter skin individuals, these areas are not well treated because the hairs are thinner than the underarm and bikini area and therefore don't pick up the heat from the laser well.
