Is it okay to use monocyline during laser hair removal?

I am on 100 mg. My doctor said it shouldn't effect it but when i called there laser spa place they said no antibiotics 2 weeks prior. I forgot to mention it was monocyline though. Should i call again and ask or is monocyline okay to use and i shouldn't mention it to the spa?

Thank you for your question.Minocycline can make your skin more sensitive to light; including sunlight, tanning beds and even lasers. You have a higher chance of developing a burn if laser treatments are performed while on this medication. I would inform the provider who is performing for hair removal treatments of what you are taking. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.

Minocycline does make your skin more sensitive to light.  I would make sure you're treating physician knows that you're taking this medication.I would make certain that the person performing and supervising your treatments is aware of the fact that you're taking minocycline
