When does a full incision blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery) heal completely and look natural?

You can start going out at the two week mark without gettingany side glances or looks from others. It may take longer, 4-6  weeks, before the majority of swelling is gone.

Typically it is about 2 months before you get to a point that the lingering swelling no longer affect the position of the upper eyelid crease.  Until that time, your creases will look high even if they are perfectly placed.  In terms of social events, often by 2 full weeks after surgery, one can be at social events without being taken aside and asked what happened.

Most patients are sociable after the first week, but with a full incision procedure, it will take a year for the scar to heal completely. You will notice changes in the incision and the swelling around your eyelids as time progresses. Be sure to follow the postop instructions of your surgeon.
