I recently had a tattoo removal session for three tattoos, two being on my feet. One of my feet swelled up and blistered really badly making it incredibly painful to walk or stand. I have heard different doctors opinions as far as popping the blisters to get relief or leaving them alone due to risk of scarring. I was also told this is a 2nd degree burn and not a normal response to the treatment. I'm worried about scarring and not sure how I should move forward with caring for it, please help!

It would be easier to answer your question if you provided a photo. It is unclear when you had your last session, sometimes area appears irritated, red or darker for some time after the treatment. It may be shading and that means that you still need additional treatment to remove your tattoo. ...
Your tattoo sounds quite big. It would be helpful to see photos. That said when faced with larger tattoos an option may be serial excision. This means a portion of the tattoo is excised first. Then after a period when the skin stretches a further portion may be excised and so on.
Thank you for your question. Having an allergic reaction to tattoo removal is very rare. If you were having an allergic reaction it would be localized to the skin such as, swelling and itching. I recommend having a follow up with your physician so he/she can assess what is going on. Best of Luck!
