You need to be in good overall health and have good skin tone to have a good result with a liposuction and fat transfer procedure. The chronological age is not as important.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
Thank you for your question. There is not cut off age for a BBL, but it is essential to make pre-op lab work and cardiovascular evaluation, they should be in optimal ranges, that allows us to make a safe procedure. It's very important to make a pre-op preparation before the surgery, advising the patient to take certain measures that helps to have a successful surgery with very good results.Kind Regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Generally, there is no absolute minimum or maximum age for undergoing liposuction. The procedure can be safely performed on patients of a variety of ages for "medical" reasons.Cosmetic surgery is best reserved for adults of at least 18 years of age. This not only ensures legal consent but also a certain level maturity when it comes to appreciating the risks and benefits of any cosmetic procedure. Some rare exceptions can be made (on a case by case basis) for patients slightly younger than 18 if the issue is causing significant distress or psychological damage. Howver, these patients will need parental consent to undergo surgery. While there is no upper age limit, the optimal candidate should be in good health and have reached a healthy stable weight. These patients should have adequate donor sites for transfer and reasonable goals/expectations for the procedure. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon.
There is not really an upper limit on age, as it is your general health which is more important to having the surgery.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
There is no exact cut off age for BBL. It depends on your health and how much fat is available for the transfer. Seek a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of these procedures, has great reviews and photos, and is an expert in this field.
There is no cut off to BBL or any other surgery as long as you are active and do not have major disease making you a bad surgical candidate. The oldest patient that I have performed a BBL on was in her late 60s. In general, if a patient is provided clearance for his/her surgery, they can tolerate a BBL.
There is no cut off age for BBL it on the elderly side or the young side. When operating on minors parental consent is needed. No plastic surgeon in the right mind would do a Brazilian an a child. At times it may be appropriate on a young woman who is 16 or 17 years old if her body is very disproportionate and it's causing emotional grief, lack of self-confidence and interfering with her normal every day life.On the other extreme cosmetic surgery should not be performed on those who are old and frail and have the potential of serious medical complications from elective surgery. This is especially true if there is only a minor aesthetic improvement possible. The decision both from the patient and the doctor to perform any surgical procedure it's based on a risk to benefit ratio. In regards to cosmetic surgery the benefits are a bit more complex than more straightforward medical conditions such as gallstones or appendicitis.Showing pictures and giving more specifics about your age and your desires could give you a more specific answer real self but ask your question as stated you will not get an accurate answer.Your best bet is to have multiple in person consultations with people who specialize in this procedure. If your minor you should bring your parents along and they need to be supportive of any procedure you wish to have.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
