Chin fillers gone wrong, can someone please help?

I suggest seeing a filler and botox expert who does  a significant amount of cosmetic procedures and can look at your individual case and suggest the proper follow up care.  this may be reversing the voluma and balancing the botox.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Deb, thank you for your question.  I'm sorry you have obviously not had a very good experience with fillers and Botox.  There are certainly very good nurse injectors with an artistic eye and experience.  Having said that, I'd like to think that as a surgeon, I have more intimate knowledge of the underlying anatomy and this helps with the precision of injection as well as knowing how the soft tissues will react.  This is why I do believe that there is value in having a surgeon perform your injections.  For this reason, in my practice, I perform all the injections myself.  There are certainly many skilled injectors in your area.  I would suggest asking whether the doctor is the one doing the injections when you call to schedule a visit.  Obviously Botox can be added to the area of the chin that still needs relaxing.  Voluma should be dissolved if it is placed in the wrong place and then you can start over.  All the best!

Hi Deb, sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. The best thing to do at this point is to let the Botox wear off. This can take 3-4 months. The Voluma can be dissolved using Hyaluronidase, though multiple sessions may be needed to fully dissolve it. At that point you can then start over with an experienced injector. I perform all the injections myself at my practice. Best of luck to you.

The Voluma can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase. The botox will wear off in 3 months.      

I'm confused as to why you went to a "nurse" for a medical treatment and now that there is a problem, you are not going to that nurse's supervising physician? A nurse cannot do prescriptive medical injections or even buy the Voluma, without a doctor to supervise her. I suggest going back and demanding to finally meet with the doctor. If people do not take their medical treatments seriously enough to see a qualified doctor, then they are risking their physical or mental health. Good luck.

It's not possible to give specific advice without seeing photos or meeting you. However, most experienced plastic surgeon or dermatologist injectors would be very comfortable refining your chin filler with hyaluronidase. It is also possible that strategic placement of a small amount of Botox will eliminate the orange peel chin that you're seeing. I have injected fillers to the chin for many years and the results are very good.  I am sorry you had trouble.  I suggest seeing someone with a lot of experience using fillers, Botox and/or hyaluronidase to assist you!
