Can I get a chemical peel before having fat transferred to my face?

You can have a chemical peel four weeks prior to fat grafting. The fat grafting will be in the subcutaneous or deeper levels of the skin and therefore will not be affected by the peel. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD

It is a good question, if is more then 1 month before, depending the type of chemical peeling, in my experience, you can do both procedures, and will prefer the skin for the expansion of volume.  

Dear VincentM90, thank you very much for sharing your question. A month prior is a good time lapse before a facial fat transfer, but in fact, the peeling wont affect the fat survival rate.

Thank you for your question. It is important for the skin surface to be intact prior to injection of any type of filler, including fat transfer. Skin needs to be free from open wounds, red swollen areas or potential infections. Depending on the type of chemical peel, healing can take a few days (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, Jessner peel) to 2-3 weeks (higher strength TCA). Please consult with an expert physician prior to getting the peel done to ensure that your skin is completely healed by the time of the fat transfer. I hope that helps.

Yes, you may do facial Rejuvenation with peels and laser prior to fat transfer. As long as there is no residual swelling or redness by the time of the surgery, you’ll be fine.Best. Dr Brecht
