Do breast implants drop after capsulectomy?

Dear thatgirl2017,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. your breast should look softer and be softer.  But depending on just what was done at your procedure, it is possible your implants could still look 'high'.  Dropping and fluffing is anticipated but textured anatomic implants do not do that as much as round smooth implants.  So I would expect softening of your outcome but only your surgeon knows for sure just how much of settling you will have so convey your concerns to your surgeon and let your surgeon direct you through the recovery phase to hopefully a happy ending.

Much will depend on exactly what was done during the procedure.  "Dropping and fluffing" (a process wherein breast implants round out the lower breast poles, and the breasts overall may may appear to be larger as breast implant "settle") may not necessarily occur with revisionary breast surgery.


For example, if the breast implant capsules of the  lower breast poles are incised (capsulotomy),  than some breast implant movement ("settling") may be expected over the course of the first several months after surgery.
