I had a bodyTite 4 weeks ago on my abdomen, my concern was the skin above my belly button, it was a bit loose (I'm 46 y.old) never been overweight. Now my abdomen (4week post) start looking worse than before the procedure. I wear the garment 24/7 for 4 weeks already and afraid to take it off. I am very depressed about it and talked to my doctor, he said I have to wait:( But for how long? What kind of magic is it if the skin will improve on its own? Please explain. I feel like I just lost $8k
Answer: Worse skin on abdomen after procedure You did not show a picture of yourself prior to the procedure so I am unable to assess if you were a good candidate for it in the first place. However, you are still early after your procedure and the results can’t be fairly judged prior to at least three months. BodyTite (RFAL Radio frequency assisted liposuction) by Inmode is a minimally-invasive surgery that uses radiofrequency to shrink and tighten the tissues under the skin giving a tighter appearance overall. BodyTite cannot “tighten” overlying redundancy in the visible part of skin. This is particularly true if there are stretch marks. While BodyTite is a great treatment on the right candidate, if skin irregularities exist, they will still show. In some patients they can even be enhanced after the underlying tissues have been shrunk down.

Answer: After BodyTite, the skin on my abdomen looks worse than before. Why this is happening? This may not be indicative of the final result due to swelling and inflammation present in the healing phases.

Answer: Body tite to abdomen Thank you for your question and photos. Body tite is a system that works by using heat to stimulate new collagen growth. Because this takes time, it is impossible to see a day to day result. In our office we take photos before the procedure is done and then again at 3, 6 and 9 months to see our patients progress. It is very common to experience lumps and bumps between 2 and 4 weeks. These lumps represent the growth of new collagen and the bodys response to the thermal stimulation from the radiofrequency treatment. This collagen connective tissue is tightening the skin to the underlying muscle. This will ultimately give your skin a tighter and more supported appearance. These irregularities can be both palpable and visible for the next several weeks while your body continues to build collagen. Daily massage with some light lotion is an important step in maintaining a smooth result and to help mitigate excessive scar buildup. Over time the lumpiness will start to dissipate. This usually takes about 12 weeks. Because the Body Tite system takes some time to see a final result, up to one year, it requires patience. If you have concerns, stay in contact with your surgeon. They will help guide you to your final result. Hope this helped. Good luck!
