First of all I'm hoping that someone with medical expertise, especially in this field, can tell me whether or not this is normal. I know the body develops very differently from person to person. I also know that I'm a late bloomer that hit puberty very late. Is it normal for me that I still have a very chubby face? Or should I seek plastic surgery immediately? I have chubby cheeks and a very visible nasolabial fold. I feel like a general fat reduction of my face would solve all my problems!

As you are a "late bloomer" , it your appearance is not extremely concerning then with age cheek fat tends to atrophy. However if you are bothered, #Microliposuction with fine cannulas in skilled hands may be the best option for you.

Answer: Chubby face in 22 year old In order to give you the best advice about possible treatment for your chubby cheeks, an exam or at least photographs would be needed. In general, it is not unusual that someone at age 22 would still have full, chubby cheeks. With continued aging, some of the fullness will go away. In most cases, I would normally not recommend any surgery to remove fat from the face in a young person, because this can lead to the face appearing too thin later in life. There could be some other treatment options available, but the exam or photos would be needed to see if you might be a good candidate for any of these or not.

I have performed many facial shaping/contourimng procedures using fat reduction, facial implants, facelifts (not in your case as you're clearly too young and not a candidate) or dermal fillers and often a combination of several of these to accomplish the desired aesthetic goal. Here are a few points for you to consider:Baby fat exists in some faces until the mid to late twenties creating a more round, chubby face. There may come a time when you want and it's reasonable to reduce some of this excess fat with facial liposuction.The ideal aesthetic facial shape in women is heart shaped. Heart shaped faces are thos with full, round cheeks anteriorly (in the front). Cheek augmentation , with cheek implants can create full, round cheeks anteriorly that will feminize the entire face.Men look ruggedly handsome with square or rectangular faces that have angularity in the cheeks, chin and jaw line.
