Loose Skin Following Mini-Tuck - Umbilicoplasty Candidate? (Photo)

Question

I had a mini-tuck and implants two years ago. The surgeon did not feel that my skin was loose enough for a regular tummy tuck, so he performed a mini along with J-Plasma. I am not satisfied with the amount of loose skin on my upper stomach and around my belly button, so I tried other in office skin tightening therapies, with limited results. I'm wondering if I am a candidate for an Umbilicoplasty. Will that remove enough lax skin and also reshape my belly button? If not, what are my options?

Dear Stephforn,
it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Umbilicoplasty will only remove loose skin around belly button. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

You needed one then, and you need one now: a full tummy tuck. It will be the only way to smooth and tighten your abdomen. When a surgeon tells you there's not enough skin, he's saying I can't place the incision too high to capture the hole in the skin where it was attached to the belly button. this is antiquated thinking and proved wrong. A small vertical scar and a VERY low transverse incision is far more aesthetic than a too high transverse incision, or in your case, inadequate peri-umbilical skin tightening. The only problem you have now is a higher risk for wound healing problems from all that useless liposuction and Renuvion treatments, which create thick scar tissue that needs to be divided.

You can have an umbilicoplasty which may improve the appearance of the belly button but it will not address the contour irregularities or the loose skin.  A standard tummy tuck would be needed.  I've included a video I hope you find helpful.
