The duration of tummy tuck surgery depends on the complexity of the patient’s case and the technique used by the surgeon. For most of my patients, I am often able to perform a tummy tuck in approximately one and a half to two hours. It is important to discuss the credentials and experience of your surgeon before going forward with surgery.
A tummy tuck will require from 2 to 4 hours of surgery. This will depend on the extent of the operation and is based on the individual patients needs.
On average a tummy tuck procedure will take between 3-4 hours, it will depend on the patient and complexity of the surgery.
The vastmajority of abdominoplasties take between two and three hours to complete. It’s important to realize that no twoabdominoplasties are ever exactly alike and for this reason operative times forthis procedure are variable.Although surgical times areimportant, it’s even more important that the procedure be performed by a boardcertified plastic surgeon with experience in this area.Safety should be everyone’s first priority. For this reason, it’s important that theprocedure be performed in a fully accredited facility with a board certifiedanesthesiologist in attendance.
Most tummy tuck surgeries take between 2 and 3 hours depending on the patient size and the surgeon's proficiency. Ask your board certified plastic surgeon at the time of your consultation for more specifics. The time is not as important as the final result. A faster surgery does not mean a better outcome. Best wishes, Dr.Bruno
Hi there- The length of your operation will depend on the details of your anatomy, the technique to be performed, and your surgeon's experience and efficiency with the technique. This is not to say that all surgeons who seem to take a long time are not experienced, or that surgeons who do the operation more quickly are rushing somehow... Just that there is variability in how quickly surgeons compete the same tasks (ask any anesthesiologist). But quality and safety are really what you should be concerned about. Whether your operation takes 2 hours or 5, if a surgeon has an excellent record of safety and his outcomes are excellent, you should be confident you are in good hands.
Abdominoplasty surgery takes about 2 1/4 hours, depending on the size of the patient and the scope of the procedure. I usually carry this out as a daycare operation. Patients usually spend 6 hours or so in the clinic, taking into account prep time and time spent in the recovery room. Tummy tuck can be combined with other operations such as breast augmentation, in which case the surgery takes about an hour longer. Patients can usually be discharged the same day as long as they are healthy and the length of surgery does not exceed 5 hours.
Duration of abdominoplasty is three to four hours in my hands. This varies depending on your dimensions and amount of tissue to be removed, as well as compliance of your abdominal wall, and concurrent procedures being performed.
Depending on how much skin you have to remove and previous abdominal scars, a tummy tuck usually takes 2-3 hours.
A standard tummy tuck probably takes about 3 hours. This includes the time of you getting into the room, going to sleep, the surgeon actually doing the surgery and then you waking up and getting out of the room. As you can see there is a fair amount of time related to things other than the actual "cutting and sewing". Obviously larger patients might take more time and smaller patients less.
Thank you for your question. I would not necessarily advice you to stop your treatment with amytriptyline before your procedure but I would recommend to inform your surgical and anaesthetic team to make sure they are aware and happy with it. Surgery can be very psychologically demanding and ...
You can't necessarily avoid it, but you can manage it It is, perhaps unfortunately, not unheard of to have fluid accumulation after a tummy tuck, including a modified or mini tummy tuck, and particularly in association with lipo. The main thing is to recognize that fluid as early...
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover a tummy tuck. Occasionally with documentation of recurrent infection they will pay for a panniculectomy (simply removing loose skin).#tt#tummytuck
