Thank you for your question. Usually from 1-2 weeks, and gradually fading. Hard areas over the veins may last for 1-2 months. I hope this helps.
"Laser vein removal" is a misnomer as the veins are not being removed but obliterated by a process of chemical irritation and local thrombosis and healing with fibrosis and thromboobliteration. They will go away within weeks or 3 months.
A laser is essentially a hot light and it works by heating the small spider veins to coagulate the blood within them and also heating the walls of the veins to dissolve them. Since this treatment is a form of a localized burn, it could result in the reaction that you had. It also may take several weeks for the red elevated areas to resolve. Symptomatic treatment with a topical antibacterial ointment may help to improve this.
I prefer to use the long-pulsed Nd:YAG with cryogen cooling, which allows one to use effective energy settings to treat the vein, while protecting the skin. Depending on the laser and settings used, a treatment could possibly not be as effective. I would see a board-certified dermatologist...
Thank you for your question. I will not treat veins on the nose if a tan is present, and wait until fall or winter to treat them. I like using a V-Beam Perfecta to do this. Usually 3-4 treatments are needed for resolution to be present for 6-12 months. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. We typically stick to treating veins on the legs and nose, some on the face. The trunk I only treat angiomas and small red telangiectasias. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. The skin is more sun sensitive and may burn or discolor. I hope this helps.
