How long does it take to get used to new nose and breathing?

The performance of rhinoplasty involves the separation of the
nasal bones and cartilages from overlying and underlying structures,
fracturing the nasal bones, removing excess bone / cartilage, reshaping of
the remaining bone and cartilage. The significant intraoperative
trauma causes swelling, which takes a significant period of time to resolve. Although you may already see external improvement, the internal lining of the nose is still swollen, and this swelling may decrease the caliber of your internal nostril, encroaching somewhat upon your nasal airway. This should still improve over a period of 6-12 months.
I recommend that you express your concerns to your surgeon at your next visit. He may want to take a peek inside the nostril.

Dear Denverbronco2, I would highly suggest that you see your surgeon for a follow up appointment and intra-nasal examination. I know I have personally answered several of your questions in the past and it is unclear if your issues are from your surgery or from anxiety from the procedure. An examination from your surgeon would hopefully provide those answers and then they can walk you through the recovery phase and hopefully bring some comfort and peace of mind to you.
