How soon can I get a Nose Piercing after Breast Augmentation?

Question

I had my BA done last Weds (12/30) - 450 cc silicone! I love it and everything is going great as far as recovery. I was wondering how long should I wait until getting my nose pierced? I read reviews from doctors on nipple piercings causing near fatal infections and toxic shock syndrome that were pierced after surgery? I know this is NIPPLE and I am asking about NOSE but is this the same? since they are both body piercings? Thanks!

The risk that a nose piercing could cause a problem with your breasts is very minimal.  It would be best to discuss this with your surgeon who can best advise you in your situation.  In my practice, I would ask a patient to wait 3 months, just to be safe.

I would recommend discussing with your surgeon.  I would tell my patient to wait 6 months until the breasts are healed.

While I know of no particular data about peircings and breast augmentation caution suggests that piercing a bacteria covered area that could become infected, like the nose, should not be done until the capsule of the implant is well formed.  From the orthopedic literature we know that ortho surgeons ask their patients, for example, to wait 6 months before getting their teeth cleaned.I hope that is helpful for you.
