Tumescent liposuction, in which the surgeon injects fluid containing a local anesthetic into the operative area, can be comfortably and safely performed under IV sedation. In fact, some doctors will perform the liposuction just using the tumescent fluid/local anesthesia without the IV sedation. In those cases, it seems helpful to have the patient take an oral tranquilizer or pain pill before the procedure for relaxation. However, adding IV sedation is a great way to have liposuction.
IV sedation is such a nice helpful addition to tumescent liposuction that you should go through the procedure easily and comfortable. It is so much safer than general anesthesia. Sincerely,David Hansen,MD
I utilize a board certified anesthesiologist for all procedures and usually perform the procedure under general anesthesia to assure no discomfort. Liposuction results are highly surgeon dependent. Find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of liposuction and liposuction revision procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
Thank you for your question. In my knowledge these medications are accurate for your type of surgery. Speak to your anesthesiologist for any concerns, he would be the most adecuate for the answer.
Liposuction of the upper abdomen under IV sedation with Versed and Propofol is a perfectly acceptable, safe, and comfortable way to have this surgery, as long as the anesthesia is performed by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and the procedure is performed in an accredited ambulatory surgery center.Consult a Board Certified Plastic SurgeonBest wishes

Once you have had liposuction of an area, the fat cells have been removed from that area and they cannot return to that area. However, liposuction is not a weight loss procedure but rather a body contouring procedure. So, if you gain weight or stop your diet and exercise regimen,...
Reducing your banana rolls, posterior upper thigh excess fat, if done properly and conservatively should give you improvement without making your buttocks drop.
