What does liposuction of sub-axilla refer to? this is in combination with adominoplasty.

The sub-axillary region refers to the area below the armpit, and if fat is in that region, it is a combination of the lateral extension of the breast (lateral breast fat) and the upper back fat.  Liposuction of this region is normally performed through two separate incisions, one under the breast to get the anterior portion of this area and one in the mid-back to get the posterior portion along with upper back fat.  Sub-axillary fat is always liposuctioned along with a breast reduction to decrease the chance of dog ears.  This area, if not suctioned out, allows fat to hang over the top of a bra both on the back and below the armpit.  Using small canulas, this unattractive area of fat is easily removed with almost no scarring.  Post operative ultrasound (the kind physical therapists use for sore muscles) in this area can decrease the chance of tightness and scarring and lead to a complete recovery in less than one month.

this is a fairly common place to acquire fat particularly in women. It can easily be suctioned in combination with an abdominoplasty.
