I got a d and c procedure. Doctors recommend waiting 3 months before trying to get pregnant again. Is it safe to get botox now?

Being that I will wait 3 months before trying again Botox says it lasts 3-6 months.. I am not sure if this would be safe getting it done at this point? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for submitting your answer.Based on the information you provided you are a candidate for botox. Botox is contraindicated during pregnancy. If you are post a D/C you should be fine. If you have any further questions I would highly recommend you consult with a Board-certified plastic surgeon for the best results.

Thank you for your question. Yes, botox is safe, as long as you are not pregnant. Since you are not currently pregnant, this would be an ok time to have botox done. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon.

You are safe to have botox post D&C and before you are actively trying to get pregnant. Generally speaking, we ob/gyns recommend 3 months after D&C to attempt pregnancy to allow you to recover physically and emotionally from the D&C. If you have your botox now while using contraception and then start to attempt pregnancy after 3 months the botox will be wearing off/worn off when you conceive. Don't forget to start or continue your prenatal vitamin with folic acid for at least 3 months pre-conception to decrease the risk of neural tube defects unrelated to botox use. Good luck with achieving pregnancy.

It would be safe to proceed with your Botox treatment at this time since you are not pregnant.  Botox is contraindicated during pregnancy.

As long as you are not currently pregnant, it is safe to get treatment with Botox or Dysport. You can also confirm with your treating OB/GYN.
