Is it ok to get a prp injection if it's red I was told it yellow and I don't think it got departed when she injected it I got it under the eyes there was brusing swelling Prp should be yellow right or does it depend on the type of blood your have is it deffent for other people the color of your 259055

typically PRP is yellow but some different brands have some red blood cell content.  It will not hurt you but may have less of an effect.  Best, Dr. Emer.

PRP can have a red tinge to it and still be effective. It depends on the process/centrifuge/company. The key is to get the concentration of platelets to 6x the concentration in regular blood which is 1.5million per ml. I like using the Magellan Tru PRP system because it can predictably get this. It you are only getting 10cc blood draws, you most likely will have ineffective PRP. To get 6x, you would net about 1.5cc or PRP. The Magellan starts with 60cc of whole blood and ends up with 8cc or PRP
