Chalazion still red swollen 5 months after procedure. (photos)

Question

So I had a chalazion in my inner corner of my eye for a year finally got it lanced out the doctor said there wasn't much puss at all more scar tissue damage was in there. But it's been 5 months since I got it lanced out and it's still swollen and red I've gone back to 2 different doctors and they say it's damaged tissue but I also have a whitehead now on the outside of my eyelid and want to get the redness away and swelling. Who should I see? Plastic surgeon?

It is likely there is residual stye/chalazion present that needs to be drained. See an oculoplastic specialist for evaluation.

I have had very good success treating these with a steroid injection of kenalog.  This avoids unnecessary surgery on a very delicate area. The steroid will be helpful even though you had a procedure on the chalazia and it has been going on for 5 months.  I use a numbing cream and then use a little bit of local so the whole thing is surprisingly comfortable.

There may be residual encapsulated chalazion/ stye in the eyelid.  An incision and drainage does not guarantee total removal, and the swelling and redness can persist for months after.  See an oculoplastic specialist for an in-person examination and to learn more.

This will resolve. Not to worry. I suggest you see an ophthalmologist or an oculoplastic surgeon in your area. Options could be steroid injections, eye drops or ointment or surgical removal.
