How Long After Liposuction Can I Have a Breast Reduction?

     This will depend upon the extensiveness of the liposuction, your overall health, and the healing involved.  I would certainly get the feedback from your surgeons.  Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of liposuction procedures each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.

There should be no reason to wait a long period of time after liposuction to have a breast reduction. 

I see no problem with a breast reduction immediately after liposuction of a different area on the body provided it is not too extensive.

Reduction mammoplasty and liposuction are two procedures that board certified plastic surgeons feel very comfortable performing.   I think it is very reasonable to have the same surgeon perform both surgeries.  I would ask the surgeon whether the two procedures could be performed at the same time or if the recommendation is for a staged procedure.  There are many reasons why certain operations are staged including overall patient health, length of surgery, DVT (deep venous thrombosis) risk, to name a few.  Liposuction recovery is very different from person to person and varies significantly depending on volume to be removed and type of anesthesia used.  Bruising, pain, swelling after liposuction in some patients may take up to a 6 week recovery.   

Since liposuction is often performed at the same time as a breast reduction,  I see no reason that you need to wait any defined period.  I think you should be fine even a few days after your initial surgery.

Thank you for the questions.  There is no physiologic issue with having breast reduction a few weeks after liposuction.  The bigger issue will be your tolerance of the recovery pain from the liposuction.  One thing to consider is your compression garment.  You will want to wait at least one month so that you can forego the compression garment during your breast reduction surgery.
