Playing Contact Sports after receiving dermal filler treatment. Any suggestions?

Hi, I am a 24 year old male looking to undergo a dermal filler treatment for my under eyes / tear troughs, from what ive found it is advised not to rub/massage the area for a few days after treatment. After this time is there any risk of contact sports such as Rugby or Wrestling (or even Boxing) moving the dermal filler to a different position of my face or distorting it?

As most Doctors have their own post-injection care regimens, it would be best to follow your own doctor's advice on this. Many of us have our patients lightly massage the area for a few days as this can help the material "set up" more naturally. Most patients prefer  "life as usual" after  procedures, short of getting punched in the face which would cause swelling, you can likely do any of the sports you listed with no adverse effect on your filler.

I would be very cautious for at least a few weeks after having something injected into your face.  You may bruise, move the material, develop a cut from trauma and risk infection.  Really consider your options before deciding.  Stay skint

Hi simbatheprince,Though there is no clinical study that establishes the stability of fillers on injected sites, our experience has taught us that it takes 1-2 months for the filler to settle so it will be best for you to avoid contact sports during this period.
