Uneven flanks/waist lipo/BBL: I am 4 weeks post op.

Question

Hi I'm concerned as my left side of my flanks/waist is dramatically different contour to my right. Can this really be due to swelling? How do I know if this is swelling or if one side has been lipo different to the other? It is making me really self conscious as it is obvious in tight clothing.

You are really early in your recovery. Yes, it could just be swelling. I would wait six months before considering a reoperation. This seems like a long time but rushing to do something is fraught with complications.

Thank you for your question!  It is hard to tell however swelling following a procedure such as liposuction and BBL tend to increase a few days following the procedure and can remain for up to a month. It is important to wear your compression garment and continue to drain any fluids from the body during the first few weeks. It is always important for you to decide what you are trying to accomplish aesthetically with your physician prior to the surgery such as the amount of projection and waste-to-buttocks ratio.  Please contact you plastic surgeon to see if they can provide you with any treatment to help improve the aesthetics of your procedure or if a revision would be necessary to achieve your desired result.
