I am 4 Weeks po after having a BA (705cc textured over the muscle). I needed to have my inframammary fold lowered & knew there was a possibility of my old crease being visible. It seems to be more apparent on my left breast. I know 4 Weeks is still early & I should give it 4-6 months for things to properly settle, but is there anything I can do to help the process? I have read that sometimes the implant can help smooth it out? Thank you for your time!
Answer: Changes to breast fold after augmentation It is still too early to have a good sense of whether or not your old breast fold will be visible after your augmentation. I would give it at least three – six months. That said, a very good solution to camouflaging an old breast crease in the situation is fat grafting to smooth out the contour irregularities. This can avoid a more invasive procedure with scoring and release of the old lower breast fold. It's critical that you seek the advice of a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has significant experience with breast augmentation. I wish you the best, Dr. Gabbay.

Answer: Breast Augmentation Hi, Congratulations on your surgery! Thank you for your post. You are only 4 weeks post op, which is too soon in the healing process to know how things are going to look. After a breast augmentation, it can take 6 months to a year before you see the final results. Just be patient and give them time to settle. I would recommend calling your plastic surgeon with any questions or concerns.

Answer: Is there anything I can do to help smooth out my old inframammary crease? You are still very early in the healing process and what you are seeing now is not your final results yet. It usually takes 4-6 months post op for your body to fully recover and only by then will you be able to conclude your results. It would be at this time when you can decide whether to have revision surgery or not.

Answer: Double bubble From your photographs, you have what we would call “double bubble”. A double bubble forms usually when some attempt is made to place an implant whose base diameter vastly exceeds that of the native breast thus necessitating a lowering of the fold. When the attachment of the skin fold remains attached to the muscle fascia, and the implant is in a plane lower than that, two bottoms appear. The upper one is where the old crease was. The lower one represents the bottom of the implant. The repair of the situation will oftentimes necessitate removal of the large implant and placement of a smaller base diameter implant, usually with the addition of some type of an ADM such as Strattice or Galaflex. Hope that is helpful.
