It depends on mainly on the operator. Any device, laser, RF, Filler, BOTOX, etc... I liken to an instrument. eMatrix and many devices here are top quality instrument, much like Japanese steel scissors for cutting hair. The instrument is good, but everything is dependent on the operator. Give the scissors to someone learning to cut hair and the difference you get from a Directors cut will be very different. In most cases, its not the instrument, or devices, its operator dependent. I stand by eMatrix and have done thousands of cases over the past half decade, without one long term complication. Sure, sort term side effects can be seen (rarely even with power of 80-90 Mj per pin 50% overlap), these include, grids, brown dots, demarkation lines, infection, re activation of HSV, PIH etc.. but all can easily be rectified by specific skin care. Big hint, apply the device to the problem, in your case if your partner is 47 Y.O  caucasian and very fair, eMatrix would not be on my list as my go to device. Always choose a device to solve the major concern, and not use one  (or even a handful of lasers RF, microneedling etc...) to come up with a solution that is best for the patient.
