It is extremely rare to be allergic to this filler. I would suggest seeing your physician for antiallergy medication and oral or injectable prednisone; however, it may be there is something else going on that needs evaluation especially if the treatment area is not red, swollen, or irritated. Best, Dr. Emer.
Speak to your surgeon/injector about causes of your reaction. It would be extremely rare, but possible, for you to have a tissue reaction. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Thank you for your question. If they added lidocaine to it, you may be allergic to the methylparaben in the lidocaine, and not the Radiesse. Ask your provider if you were injected with lidocaine. I hope this helps!
This would be a very unusual reaction. I recommend seeing an allergist right away. In the interim you might consider taking Zyrtec or Claritin during the day and Benedryl at night - ask your primary care doctor for dosage.
A true allergic reaction is rare but anything is possible and you should, of course, address this with your own plastic surgeon. For an allergic reaction, and particularly one that, like this one, appears to be systemic, a discussion with your internist is of paramount importance. You may benefit from a course of steroids and, of course, you have to be sure that this is an allergy to the Radiesse - that's what you're assuming it is and you may be right - but you can't make that assessment on your own.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of RealSelf100

The technique should be left to your injector. It’s no secret in the cosmetic industry that men are one of the fastest growing demographics. This comes on the heels of a menaissance, or a bit of a reverse sexual revolution where it is more acceptable for men to maintain their strength, power an...
I love both of these products for filling the cheeks. In general with voluma what you see at the time of injection is what you get. Radiesse works differently and because many do see the initial decline in volume before the collagen grows in, I tend to shoot for slight "over correction" at...
