Is it normal for stitches to burn after BA? 8 days post op 355cc over muscle. (photos)

Hi, I’ve recently had breast augmentation surgery 335cc over the muslce 8 days ago. I wasn’t in that much pain, but this morning i woke up with one side really stinging at the area of the stitches. The other side is fine, and barely hurts. This stinging sensation has been around all day, I had a shower and gently washed it with non-fragrant soap but noticed a white spot, towards the inner chest where it burns the most.. should I be worried? Hi there and thanks for your question and photo! It is normal to experience burning at your incision site shortly after surgery.  It should resolve within the first 2 weeks after your procedure.  I advise my patients to wash around the incision with antibacterial soap, such as dial.  I suggest seeing your surgeon for a follow up to ensure a good and speedy recovery.  Best of luck!

Pain after surgery is not uncommon and most patients experience this post-op. This will subside on its own. However, if the pain is no longer tolerable and it disturbs your sleeping pattern, then it would b best to contact your surgeon for prescription of pain medication.

Hi alexa Thank you for your question.  Congrats on your #BA.  It's very normal to have some burning sensation after your surgery which can take 2 to 3 weeks to settle.  From your photo there does not appear to be any signs of infection.  If you are concerned you should contact your Dr office to ask advice on care. I recommend to my patients to cover the scars with micropore take which protect the scar from being rubbed and avoids tension on the skin.  Good luck with your recovery.
