Question

would be the best method of removal for this mole in the pictures. I would like to know what would be best and would scar least as it is clearly in a prime position on the face and would like it removed for cosmetic reasons. I am a 19 years old male. It is also slightly darker than it appears in the photos. Also how long should it take to heal and would I have an open wound. Thank you

A shave excision is typically the easiest and most cost effective way of removing the majority of moles on the nose. It will also give the best chance of minimizing the scar. With this method the mole is actually "shaved off" at a level just below the surface of the skin. The tissue that has been removed can then be sent for microscopic examination to make sure the mole is benign. Dermatologic surgeons are experts at doing this procedure.
