I am very curious if Lumenis Diode laser will give me good results on my skin type and the thickness as well as colour of my hair .

Thank you for your question and photos. While it’s difficult to make an assessment from an image alone, it appears you would be an excellent candidate for laser hair removal. Most devices work by distinguishing between the hair and skin color, so the greater the contrast, the better the results. As far as the device, I would be more concerned with the experience of the provider than the specific device used. I personally offer a variety of different lasers for hair removal so I can tailor treatments to the unique needs of each of my patients. Schedule an appointment with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience in laser treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. Good luck to you!

Thank You for the photo. While laser hair removal can be performed on virtually any skin color and hair type, hair color is the most important factor. The light emitted from the laser is attracted to the melanin, or dark pigment, in the hair follicle. This means that dark hair is treated most effectively. Treatments performed on red, blonde, and gray hair are not generally as effective. I have had great result on patients with brown hair. Best of Luck .

We have been using one at our MedSpa for 7 years and YOU are the perfect candidate, because anyone with more skin color or darker skin color can't use this we have moved on this past year to the Cynosure Elite MPX...which would work for you equally as well and would work on very dark skinned people as well.
But if you have found a clinic with this Laser, Go for it. You should have fabulous results!

This diode laser works extremely well on light, untanned skin, but only effectively targets darker hairs with brown or black pigmentation. That is because the target or chromophore for this wavelength is the pigment in the follicle, in order for there to be effective tissue destruction. In addition, the follicle must be in the anagen or growth phase for effective hair ablation.
