Can I have laser treatment for thread veins if I have had a melanoma?

I have lots of small thin thread veins on my leg which I really want treated. I have had a melanoma in the past, stage one, on the back of my thigh. It is no where near where the treatment for the veins would be. Is there any danger of me having laser treatment? Would it make me more susceptible to getting another melanoma or damage my skin in any other way?

There is no contraindication to having spider vein treatment in a patient with a history of melanoma. Sclerotherapy or superficial laser treatment should improve the cosmetic appearance.

There is no contraindication to using a topical laser for spider veins in an area of previous skin melanoma removal and treatment will not make you more susceptible to forming another melanoma.
