I had Veinwave on my face 5 days ago and it is still very very red. I'm so worried, will it go away?

I have little scabs but the swelling has calmed. Will the redness go away? Also, it doesn't look like it's had any positive effect on my spider veins, is there a chance they will fade as the redness goes (if the redness goes!)?

Vein wave and vein gogh leave microscabs.  They cause veins to go away by what they call Ohmic thermolysis which means they heat the veins and cause them to seal shut and go away. They create small tiny scabs which gradually go away over around a month.  We tell patients to moisturize and not pick at the tiny scabs and they will go away. We have never had any scarring

Veinwave (and VeinGogh) are ohmic thermolysis technologies that deliver a small burst of radiofrequency energy to the vein and surrounding skin. This causes the vein to collapse and eventually be resorbed. It is difficult to treat the entire length of the vein (as is done with sclerotherapy), so intermittent bursts of energy are applied. The intervening segments that are still open are no longer receiving fresh blood flow, so they eventually clot and are resorbed. This process of resorption takes weeks. The scabs you are describing are tiny punctures where the RF energy was applied with the needle. These will gradually heal over a couple of weeks. It is wise to follow up with the physician who treated you, as you may require more sessions to resolve the issue. Good luck!
