I have upper lip darkening after laser hair removal 1 month ago, how long would it take for it to go away?

I already have melasma on my cheeks. I developed darkening on upper lip in the same pattern as laser was applied. It doesn't look melasma but tanned skin. I had dermamelan treatment but no effect on upper lip. is this going to be permanent or would fade with treatment creams in few months time? please comment as i am very nervous it gives my face strange look actually.

The setting was too high.Manuka honey will speed up healing use once a day.Wait at least a month and then do test spot at lower setting .If this is doctors office discuss with physician settings.If this is spa with no medical supervision go somewhere else because a burn is unacceptable.

This is normal.This a series of treatments and will require 6-8 sessions probably eight so do not be disappointed if it takes 2-3 sessions before you see thinning of hair.

You can do hair removal and have threading done, but in general you shouldnt really have to.  Best, Dr. Emer.
