Nd Yag laser hair removal first session - what to expect?

Indian skin with thick hair growth on my leg. I had my first session & was asked to shave the night before, my laser didn't hurt much & my legs didn't show enough redness, it was 1% of what I usually get after waxing! the shaved hair seems to be growing fast thicker! I was under the impression that the existing shaved hair grows very thin & fall off in a week's time! Pls let me know if its normal for the existing shaved hair to grow back really thick and no signs of them falling off after 1 week

You can do hair removal and have threading done, but in general you shouldnt really have to.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The lasers damage the follicles of the hair. This the area which produces the hair itself. Once damaged they don't regenerate so it is unlikely you will regrow the hair to the extent it once was. The Rogaine likely will not help as it can not regrow hair. It works more by preserving hair you...

I feel that 6-8 weeks between treatments is perfect.  I would not understand waiting until regrowth is 100% - with each session we are hoping for less and less regrowth.
