Fasting after FUE proceedure. Will this affect my growth? 3 weeks post-op.

Dear sir or madam I had FUE transplant 3 weeks ago and have to fast for the next month. Will this affect my hair growth and recovery. I am concerned that there will be insufficient nutrients and protein necessary. Is it better that I avoid fasting? Kind regards

We typically advise our SmartGraft patients to use baby shampoo for the first 10 days post procedure because of the lack of alcohol in the product. We do not want to dry the new hair follicles out etc...

FUE is just a harvesting method.  It does not relate to results.  If you want to keep your hair very short you may want the FUE.Discuss your goals and expectations with your doctor and have a long term plan.  Even with STRIP or FUE method you will need more than one surgery to achieve your goal...

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.

Smoking is not generally recommended after surgery.  If you are concerned it is best to check with your doctor or quit smoking.Nicotine itself is not the issue.

Donor hair can be harvested from almost any part of the body but it does not mean it will look natural.  Leg hair is not typically a good source for donor hair.

It is normal to lose transplanted hairs days to weeks after surgery.  It may take 6 to 12 months to see new hairs grow out.
