When is it safe to start Isotretinoin after taking Doxycycline?

I am coming to an end of my Doxycycline treatment and have been moved to a low dose of Isotretinoin 10mg per day. I had my last Doxycycline tablet last night and I was wondering would it be safe to start the isotretinoin tomorrow morning?

Hello and thank you for your question. Doxycycline may stay in your system for a few days, half life is 18-22 hours. I recommend starting isotretinoin a few days after finishing doxycycline to prevent medication interaction. I also recommend following up with your board certified dermatologist for evaluation of your progress, and discussion of appropriate treatment. Best of luck.
