Discrepancies 8 moths post gynecomastia surgery. Is it left over gland, scar tissue, muscle? Can this be fixed? (Photos)

I had gyno removal 8 months ago by a plastic surgeon in my area. Ever since about 2 months post op it almost seems as though the gyno looks the same as before I got the surgery. I was not advised to do any massaging to the area, so I’m guessing scar tissue? When unflexed there is a discrepancy on both sides, more so on my left though. When I flex, it completely goes away and looks like there is nothing there. My surgeon told me it is just muscle, but I have a hard time believing that. If it is scar tissue, is it too late to begin massaging at 8 months? My surgeon does not provide kenalog shots. I find it hard to believe that my unflexed chest would give the appearance of gyno due to the shape of my muscle.
