At three months after breast augmentation, I do not recommend that he patients wear a sports bra at night.
Thank you for your question. At 3 months you should be able to wear any bra you would like and remove your bra at any time. That being said, it is always best to follow up with your surgeon and ensure he/ she is ok with you removing the bra. Best,
Plastics surgeons will differ widely on this question. In my practice, I ask patients to wear a supportive bra for 8 weeks after surgery. I don't think there's any evidence to support any specific time frame. It is mostly surgeon preference. Good luckand be safe.John T.Nguyen, MD, FACS, FICSDouble BoardCertified Plastic Surgeon
I always recommend my patients wear their sports bra for two months, day and night after their surgery. However, you should follow your surgeon's advice regarding wearing your sports bra after your breast augmentation surgery.
Hello and thank you for your question. Each surgeon has their own thought process around the need (or not) to wear a bra post op. I would recommend that you ask your Plastic Surgeon for his/her recommendation. That being said, I see little benefit to wearing a bra at night at 3 months post op. Some patients do feel more comfortable wearing a bra at night, and if you do, that is perfectly acceptable.
This is a question to be addressed to your own surgeon. I personally don't see any benefit in wearing the bra at night.
I would recommend discussing this with your surgeon since there is no standard amount of time to wear a surgical bra. It depends on your surgeon's preference and what works well in their practice, and also each patient's recovery. For example, if a patient is more swollen and tender than usual I might suggest they wear a good sports bra for a longer period of time. On the other hand if they have virtually no postoperative pain I will suggest they start wearing underwire bras sooner.
Thanks for your question. Gernerally, I recommend my patients stay in their bra for 2 months. By then, the scar capsule around the implant is generally well developed and the risk of displacement is very low. Please check with your surgeon for a definitive answer.
Although your surgeon may have a rationale, I think most plastic surgeons at this point in time would not feel that wearing a sports bra is necessary. If your surgeon does wish you too, ask for the reasonings for that. Usually, breast positioning is mostly set at this time although there still can be some settling.
Every surgeon is different. I do not usually ask patients to wear surgical bra at night after breast augmentation surgery. Best to ask your surgeon.
The main concern with coughing is post op bleeding. Fortunately, you are 10 days out from surgery. Most bleeding occurs immediately post op or 7-10 days later. You hopefully will not have a problem. A cough suppressant is a good idea for a few days and holding a pillow on your chest will...

Penelope,Photos would help a lot here, as would comparison to pre-op photos. This line may represent the original fold position, though 1/2 inch below the areola is pretty close to the areola to represent the original fold line, but the lift may have altered that relationship. This occurs when...
