Done hair transplant exactly three months ago. I still. Get some flaky bits here and there which can be embarrassing. My implanted hair near my receding hair line is still shorter than the rest of the hair and thin. I have long hairs but no density. I'm getting worried now.

Answer: 3 month post transplant I would not worry. You will most likely see hair growth within next month or two. It will continue to grow for over a year. Continue your hair care regiment and you should see nice results real soon if surgery was performed correctly.

Answer: 3 months post hair transplant my scalp is still itchy at times and I have no density. (Photo) Thank you for the post. Being only 3 months post procedure, it is still too early to see any growth. You might want to wait atleast another month before you assess. It takes 6 months to achieve 50% growth, and can take up to 14 months to achieve 100%. You are on the right track.

Answer: Itchy and flaky Hello in Leeds,Thank you for posting. To answer your second question first, it is very normal not to see much in the way of hair growth or density at only three months post transplant. In most people, the transplanted hair shafts shed within 2 -4 week of the procedure, and only just begin to grow again at 3 months. Full growth and density are not expected until about 12 months post procedure in most patients. You can certainly help the process along by applying topical minoxidil and taking oral Finasteride. The flaking and itching at three months are unusual. Common causes include a sensitivity reaction to any topical material you are applying to your scalp such as lotions, gels or medications (in which case you should stop), or to your shampoo and conditioner (you may need to change these). It may also be to poor scalp hygiene, so you should make sure to shampoo vigorously and apply a non-allergenic conditioner daily (baby shampoo works well and is hypo-allergenic). Finally, it may be due to a low level fugal infection such as tinea capitis or dandruff, in which case a Selenium-based shampoo/conditioner is helpful, or as Dr. Rassman suggested, HPR + HydroGel .Good luck!
