The answer is no. X-rays only pick up radio-opaque objects. These are usually hard plastic or metal. Today sutures (even non-absorbable) would not be seen on x-ray. Some surgeons used metal wire sutures in the 70's, but this practice is not common anymore in the U.S.
While there are some sutures that have small wire components, and it was done in the past, it would be unheard of for someone to be using these today.
