I am a 27 year old female. I had lipo done about 9 months ago. My stomach looks misshapen and lumpy to me. My doctor insists my results look great and that my “lumpiness” is just my muscles that I’ve always had hidden under fat. I feel like I lost all femininity/sexiness in my abdomen. Is there anything I can do for a smoother, more even, more feminine look? Is more surgery my only option?
Answer: Botched Laser Liposuction / Lumpy Abdomen -- Radiofrequency, Cellutone/Zwave, Revision VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction It typically takes 6 to 12 months to see the final outcome of a liposuction procedure. However, even at this stage, it's clear that you will likely will need a revision procedure -- this is simply not right. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding Vanquish for further fat removal; truSculpt iD, Exilis, Forma, and Venus Legacy for additional skin tightening; and Cellutone / ZWave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Ultimately, if you are unhappy with your results, please speak to your physician and ensure that he/she was a full body VASER Hi-Definition liposuction physician with extensive experience in contouring and body shaping -- and not just traditional fat reduction. You can always get a revision procedure by an expert if needed. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Unhappy Result Thank you for your question. I can see an irregularity in upper left abdomen. From the photo it does not appear to be from your abdominal muscles. Rather, it appears to be from your skin or subcutaneous fat. This could be the result of over aggressive liposuction or a skin fold created by improper fitting or use of compression post liposuction. I am so sorry it is so distressing it is affecting your sense of femininity. Unfortunately the only solution would be a revision surgery, possibly with a fat transfer or liposhifting and or skin tightening. If you have fully addressed your concerns with the surgeon and he has not offered a satisfactory response, I would recommend seeking another surgeon who you can better appreciate your concerns and recommend a correction you can trust. I would recommend looking for a doctor who does a lot of revision liposuction. Wishing you the best,

Answer: Post Lipo lumpiness The "lumpiness" is a function of irregular liposuction with more taken from some areas than others leading to uneven contouring. This is more commonly seen in the setting of aggressive liposuction (often times for fat harvest where the goal is less contouring and more maximizing fat yield). Optimally candidates will classically have greater than a "2 inch pinch." This implies that there is at the very least an inch of subcutaneous cushion for aspiration. The fat layer is meant to smooth irregularities (like frosting on a cake). Remove too much frosting and the cake irregularities become apparent. The solutions to these problems will vary from additional liposuction and fat transfer to smooth irregularities and skin tightening (RF such as Thermi/Bodytite).I would allow for stabilization of your result. At that point, you should revisit these issues with your surgeon to discuss options for improvement. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Answer: Irregularities after liposuction there does appear to be some areas where fat remains... there is a fine line between removing too much fat and too little fat and perfectly even results are difficult to achieve. i think it would be simple to have the lumpy areas retreated to smooth out the final result. this can be done under local anesthesia..

Answer: Lumpiness 9 months after laser liposuction Hi and welcome to our forum! I'm sorry that you are unhappy with your liposuction result. From your photo, it appears that the liposuction result is a bit uneven. Early on, this can be treated with ultrasonic and radiofrequency therapies. At 9 months out, you may require a liposuction revision with fat grafting to smooth out the contour. 15% of cosmetic procedures require a touch up. If your present physician refuses to be of assistance, it may be wise to seek a second opinion. Best wishes...
